A Posy of Pansies - One of a kind Gold Vermeil Sapphire Stacking Rings
I bought these gorgeous sapphires from my gemstone supplier Stuart. He supplies me with fully traceable and ethically sourced gemstones. This means he can be sure that the miners and the communities are being supported to mine safely and, that they are getting access to fair markets and pay without being exploited.
This is something I am really passionate about. There is still a lot of exploitation within the mining industry to this day, which is why I consciously make the effort to research my suppliers and materials to make the best decisions for the planet as well as my customers.
Each Sapphire is a different hue of purple. There is one deep mauve colour, one lavender colour, and one with a blue/purple tone to it. They remind me of a mini posy of pansies just about to bloom. I have flush set each stone in a sphere which I have textured slightly to give an organic look to represent the seed of the flower.
You can find pansies throughout mythology and folklore, often seen as a symbol of fertility and love. My favourite lore story is that they were all white at one time, but they were pierced by Cupid's arrow which gave them their purple and yellow colors and then used as a potent ingredient for love potions.
Each ring is handmade from 925 recycled sterling silver and plated with a buttery layer of 18 carat gold. The middle ring is a 2mm band and the two either side are 1.5mm bands. You can arrange the bands in lots of different ways too which I love. You could also wear them on their own, as two, or all three together to give you lots of options.
The rings are a size N which have an inside diameter of 17.1mm.

Each piece is then sent to the Birmingham Assay Office to be stamped with my makers mark - PL, 925 for sterling silver, the anchor - to represent Birmingham Assay Office, and the year it was made (currently the letter y).
I always recommend keeping your jewellery in the box or cotton bag provided when not being worn to help keep your pieces looking their best. I also pack a small polishing cloth so you can spruce them up every now and then.
All my pieces come in a branded gift box which is made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue, the tap is made of grosgrain satin ribbon. The FSC® mark guarantees that all materials come from an FSC® forest, where no more wood is cut down than the forest can reproduce. This means better protection of the animal- and plant life, and all foresters have proper training, safety equipment and a decent wage.
